В Лос-Анджелесе в спортивном комплексе Staples Center состоялась церемония вручения премии «Грэмми-2020». 62-е ежегодное мероприятие началось с капеллы, исполненной квартетом Boys II Men в память Коби Брайанта. К группе присоединилась ведущая Алиша Киз, которая позже подвела итоги года.

Режиссер Ава Дюверней представила номер, отдающий дань уважения Nipsey Hussle. В нем приняли участие DJ Khaled и John Legend («Лучшее рэп/песенное совместное исполнение»). Лауреатами с самым большим количеством наград были Lizzo, Lil Nas X и молодая американская певица Билли Айлиш, которая унесла с собой все четыре главные статуэтки («Запись, Песня, Альбом года» и «Лучший новый исполнитель») и стала вторым после Кристофера Кросса в истории артистом, добившимся такого результата. Финальным аккордом вечера стало выступление Fame, исполнившего песню «I Sing The Body Electric».
